Clinical Director
Leon Chung, RMT
Leon chose to become an RMT, in the hopes of being able to help others achieve optimal health. He acquired his RMT license upon graduation from Vancouver Career College. He was inspired to go into this field while working as a trainer and listening to his clients and people around him talk about their chronic injuries. He is very passionate in terms of maintaining quality health. He believes postural correction and proper exercise mechanics can help improves one’s overall health. Living a healthy active lifestyle himself lead him to want to work with patients who have sports related injuries. His goals are to help patients achieve this with a proper assessment and treatment plan followed by a tailored home care regimen. Leon has worked with aiding others in their rehabilitation process through his experience as a trainer.
Prior to becoming a massage therapist, he has worked as a trainer to help improve the physical condition of LPGA professional golfers and baseball players. He has a lot of experience as a semi-professional athlete in Korea, and has continued his interests in sports in the U.S. and Canada. In his spare time, Leon enjoys playing golf with his friends, spending time and exploring Vancouver’s food culture.

Xiaoyong Ted Zhu, BCAK member
Ted graduated with his Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology from Trinity Western University and has a certificate of personal training license from National Strength and Conditioning Association. He enjoys expanding his practical skills and knowledge by constantly learning new treatment methods and techniques to further benefit his clients. He enjoys prescribing and directing specific exercise programs in the pursuit of helping a client reach their goals. He believes in constantly learning and bettering himself so aspires to learn about new treatment methods and philosophies to further aid his clients.

Registered Acupuncturist
Andy Chien
Andy is a registered acupuncturist of CTCMA. He graduated from the PCU College of Holistic Medicine’s
Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner program. Fluent both in Mandarin and English, his treatment
helps patients feel relief from pain and imbalance of the body. He continues to learn new techniques and improves his knowledge in the field.

Andy also has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia. While working as a lab technician, he was also an onsite first aid attendant for 3+ years where he acquired a passion for helping patients recover from injury by providing patient-centered treatments.

Registered Acupuncturist
Joonsoo Lee
Joonsoo is a registered acupuncturist in Traditional Chinese Medicine of CTCMA & Doctor in China. He obtained bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Changchun China Traditional Chinese Medicine University, specializing in chronic pain relief.
Joonsoo is a registered BC Acupuncturist and has treated patients in gastroenterology, respiratory system, neuropsychiatry, etc. for over 20 years. Joonsoo has successfully built his career as an acupuncturist in China and BC gaining lots of fame, and finally, he is with Life Balance Wellness to serve patients with his professional skills and passion. He is fluent in Korean and Mandarin.

His goal is to provide the best customized treatment to each patient and achieve excellent outcomes for all.

Registered Physiotherapist
Christopher Wong, MPhty, ACC, CGIMS
Chris completed his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in 2007 and continued his education at the University of Sydney in Australia by completing his Masters in Physiotherapy in 2011. He was recently awarded Best Acupuncture by the Burnaby Now A-List for 2021.

He has 10+ years of experience working in private physiotherapy clinics in the Metro Vancouver area and is well versed with covering a wide range of acute and chronic conditions which include post-operative surgeries, chronic myofascial syndromes, motor vehicle related injuries, sports injuries and workplace injuries.
Chris utilizes Gunn IMS dry needling, which can assist individuals with restoring dysfunction in patients with chronic nagging issues that do not seem to improve, even with exercises. As well, Chris has completed his acupuncture certification with Acupuncture Canada and is certified to provide medical acupuncture to help treat his patients’ various symptoms. He also completed the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) certification course which helps him thoroughly assess and treat patients with a wide range of muscle and joint injuries.

In his spare time, Chris likes to play basketball, hockey, and go snowboarding. He also enjoys travelling and camping with his wife and 3 young kids.

Registered Physiotherapist
Jeffery Hsu
Jeffery completed his Bachelor of Kinesiology and his Master of Physical Therapy degree at the University of British Columbia. He is passionate about helping others recover from their injuries and wants to help empower clients to be proactive in their rehabilitation. He strongly believes that through manual therapy, exercise, education and a positive therapeutic relationship, he can help clients feel confident with their bodies again.

Jeffery is very interested in human anatomy/physiology and often spends time looking up new research available to provide the best evidence-based approach to treatments. His previous experience as a Kinesiologist ensures that he is very comfortable with creating comprehensive home exercise programs for his clients.

Jeffery is fluent in both English and Mandarin. In his spare time, he enjoys weightlifting, sports, and trying out new restaurants.

Registered Massage Therapist
Wilson Hsu
Wilson has experience in massage treatment since 2003 and became a RMT in 2022.
Wilson has a strong medical background and many years of clinical experience.
Wilson is specializing in pain management, nerve pain / discomfort, and relaxation.

Hyeryeon Leanne Hwang
Hyeryeon graduated from Vancouver Career College. Throughout her education, she quickly developed a passion for learning and understanding the complexity of the human body. Previously she has worked as
a non-registered massage therapist for 4 years in Korea, Australia and Canada. The experience of meeting patients in the healthcare industry and two years of high-quality educaion made her better understand of patients’ conditions and help them effectively.
She believes that patients’ active intervention in treatment is important. Hyeryeon will make a treatment plan reflecting the patient’s opinions, suggest remedial exercise after treatment, and encourage them to abandon bad habits that ruin body alignment.

Registered Massage Therapist
Bryan Nam
Bryan is a dedicated individual who has pursued his passion for health and wellness through various avenues. He is a graduate from West Coast College and has obtained his diploma in Massage Therapy.

Bryan's journey into the realm of physical fitness began during his elementary school years when he first started training in Taekwondo. As he grew older, his interest shifted towards kickboxing, which became his primary sport throughout high school and college. With a competitive spirit, Bryan not only trained but also participated in kickboxing tournaments. Aside from combat sports, you can find Bryan in the gym, where he enjoys exercising and lifting weights.

His dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is rooted in personal experiences. Having suffered from Low Back Pain from a young age, Bryan also battled through numerous amount of injuries. Bryan's desire to help others overcome chronic pain led him to pursue a career in Massage Therapy. He understands the impact that injuries and chronic pain can have on a person's quality of life, and he is driven to make a difference by using his skills and knowledge to promote healing and well-being.

Sophia Sohee Yoon
Sophia is currently a student at WCCMT to become a registered massage therapist. Her passion is to improve the life quality of others, through relaxation massage whether it is to decrease pain, tension, or stress.
As everybody is different She finds herself more motivated to understand the human body.

Intern Massage Therapist (Non-registered)
Jacob Kim
Jacob is a student at WCCMT studying to become a Registered Massage Therapist.
Eager to learn about treating the human body, he began his studies in May 2022.
As a soon-to-be graduate, Jacob is looking forward to working with new clients and working in a clinic setting.
